Is your business prepared for the Coronavirus? Let our panel of experts in business continuity, supply chain, and healthcare help you respond to and prepare. These experts will take questions and discuss how to ready existing business owners for the potential effects of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Information shared will be invaluable to local business in providing strategies to help minimize susceptibility for future disruptions beyond illness spread such as market fluctuations and weather-related natural disasters.

Vanessa Vaughn Mathews, MBA, CBCP; Founder & Chief Resilience Officer at Asfalis Advisors, a crisis preparedness and risk mitigation professional services advisory company. She has a background in crisis preparedness and business continuity through partnerships with public and private sector organizations in manufacturing, retail, and aviation. Mathews was selected in 2017 as 1 of 50 women across the United States as a Global Innovation Fellow by the U.S. State Department in Shenzhen, China due to her international business experience. She was also the first female in the state of Georgia to graduate with a degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management. 

Richard Sharpe; Chief Executive Officer at Competitive Insights, LLC, a Software as a Service company with applications in data assurance and advanced analytics on cost-to-serve and profitability. As an industry leader for the last 25 years, Sharpe is a frequent speaker at industry forums and a lecturer in Georgia Tech. He writes the DC Velocity blog on Analytics and Big Data, and is a founding member of American Logistics Aid Network, a non-profit consortium serving Disaster Relief Agencies. Sharpe was formerly president of CAPS Logistics, Inc., a pioneer in supply chain optimization solutions adopted by 15 percent of the Fortune 500 companies worldwide. 

Maureen Bumba, RN, MSN, FNP  Senior Program Development Specialist at Central Piedmont Community College has been a nurse and nurse practitioner for 35 years. She received her BSN from Bowling Green State University and her Master’s degree from University of Pennsylvania. Her experience in primary care as well as public health situates her well in discussing the nature of coronavirus/ COVID-19 and its impact on individuals, communities and the workplace.
